SUMMARY

The role of our Engineering Project Manager is focussed on planning and management of product development projects to meet customer requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Customer Projects:
    • Working with customers and the commercial team to understand and gather the customer requirements
    • Working with our engineering team and technology partners to understand how the customer software requirements can be met
    • Working with our manufacturing partners to understand how the customer hardware requirements can be met
    • Working with the commercial team to provide engineering input to project definition documents and functional business requirements
    • Working with the engineering technical leads to co-ordinate the creation of technical specification documents
  • Compiling and agreeing project plans
    • Review of project definition documents and specifications
    • Task breakdown analysis
    • Analysis of assumptions, risks, issues and dependencies
    • Task estimation
    • Impact assessment to cost, time and effort estimation
    • Creating project plans
  • Reviewing and reporting progress of projects, maintaining project plans
  • Proactively managing project risks and issues
  • Inview Technology Core Roadmap Projects:
    • Working with the CTO to understand the core roadmap development and specific assigned projects
    • Working with the Inview Engineering team and technology partners to understand how the project requirements can be met
    • Working with the engineering technical leads to co-ordinate the creation of detailed technical specification documents
    • Working with the respective head of department to provide reporting of project timelines and costs
  • Managing a cross functional team including STB group, design, Infrastructure and offshore team from matrix perspective
  • Reporting on project progress to all key stakeholders internal and external stakeholders
  • Compiling and agreeing Inview Engineering project plans
    • Review of project definition documents and specifications

    • Analysis of assumptions, risks, issues and dependencies
    • Task estimation
    • Creating project plans
  • Reviewing and reporting progress of projects, maintaining project plans
  • Proactively managing project risks and issues

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Hands on project manager with at least five years proven success as an engineering focussed project manager in a software development environment preferably Digital TV
  • Project management qualification such as PRINCE2 practitioner or PMP
  • Good understanding of embedded software development
  • Good understanding of back end cloud based system development
  • Proficient in project management tools including MS Project
  • Self-organising, stakeholder management and strong communication skills

Desirable

  • Agile project management qualification such as SCRUM master certification bonus
  • Good knowledge of a spectrum of project management methodologies
  • Experience of working with third party software vendors and manufacturers especially Far East
  • Proficient with the use of software management tools such as JIRA, Confluence and/or Redmine

 This is a full time (37.5 hours per week) role based in our offices in Northwich and will involve occasional periods of international travel to meet with customers, technology partners and manufacturing partners. Applicants MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK.
